W2 Rate (all inclusive): $37.29 – $41.31/hr

Purpose The Solution Architect interacts with the customer to define and provide technical, competence development solutions that enhances the customer’s competitive position. The Solution Architect plans, designs and deliver solutions that improve the customer network in terms of capacity, functionality, end-user-services, and competence built up etc.

Normally a Solution Architect participates as a member of a Core 3 team and/or participates in the delivery project. The Solution Architect identifies add on sales opportunities via a close cooperation with the customer in the delivery project. A Solution Architect typically interacts with customer staff, 3rd Party suppliers, MU staff and other groups within Service Delivery organization. Working as a Solution Architect you are expected to work, cooperate and communicate in an international environment, both with colleagues internally as well as customers and suppliers to Ericsson. To succeed within this profession it is essential to re-use and share knowledge with your peers. A Solution Architect is expected to travel internationally and work in different cultural environments. The technical development is rapid and you are responsible for continuously keeping your competence and skills up to date.

The Solution Architect career path consists of four Career stages with predefined requirements. A prerequisite to being promoted is that future business requires position on this Career stage. A way in to the Solution Architect career can be as new recruits, from Consultant, Service Engineer or positions with in Market Units, Business Units and Development Units. Solution Architect is a good foundation for other careers within Ericsson such as Customer Project Manager, Manager, Product Management and with in the sales and marketing organization,

Requirements

This is a definition on the requirements on each Career stage for the job Solution Architect. For the position the Functional Role and Functional Skills have to be considered. When the Functional Role has a certification program this is one requirement for the Career stages.

  • Design and deliver a technical and/or competence developing solution in accordance to an agreed specification and in co-operation with the customer. The solution has limited impact on customers’ organisation and processes.
  • Provide specified customised solutions, covering several products.
  • Participate in customer meetings from a customer solution perspective and identify add on sales opportunities during the delivery phase in order to contribute to increased sales volumes.
  • Participate in the follow up of the delivered products and solutions on an agreed regular basis with the customer to keep informed about the life cycle evolvement of the implemented customer solution.
  • Master’s degree in engineering (IT or Telecom) or the equivalent theoretical background acquired through experience and/or in any other way. At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Passed certification in at least one Functional role at assessed level Career stage Experienced
  • Specify and design a technical and/or competence developing solution in co-operation with the customer. The solution has some impact on customers’ organisation and processes.
  • Analyse Customer networks performance and propose and implement solutions for network improvements.
  • Select or propose 3rd party suppliers and decides or recommends 3rd party products included in the proposed Solution.
  • Provide specified customised solutions, covering several products and interfaces several customer systems.
  • When applicable participate as a member of Core 3 team with specialist knowledge within the subject area (solutions) so that technical aspects related to are taken into account.
  • Identify add on sales opportunities during the delivery phase in order to contribute to increased sales volumes.
  • Follow up the delivered products and solutions on a agreed regular basis with the customer to keep informed about the life cycle evolvement of the implemented customer solution.
  • Drive changes in the methods, processes and guidelines within the customer organisation or internally. Also acts as a leader/mentor in day to day operations to provide insights for less experienced colleagues.
  • Drive add on sales and business opportunities during the entire process in order to contribute to increased sales volumes. Manage teams of less experienced Solution Architect or Service Engineers in Customer Projects to ensure that they are delivered according to expectations and plans.
