W2 Rate (all inclusive): $37.29 – $41.31/hr

Education:

  • BSEE/BSCE required (Masters degree desired)

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Previous Access Test Engineering experience required.
  • 3-5 years minimum field experience in configuring and documenting Adtran TA5000, TA5004 and TA5006 operating instructions for multimedia access network solutions.
  • Detailed understanding of test equipment related to access testing required. Must be good at troubleshooting issues. Working knowledge of IP required. Previous IPTV testing experience desired. Must be a team player.
  • Current working knowledge and practical application of IP Services for double-/triple-play applications in the Access Network with FTTN, FTTP, FTTC and MDU/MTU architectures.
  • Proficiency in 802.1q, IGMP, 802.1p, DHCP, 802.1x, ARP and xDSL line service and line spectrum profiles, knowledge and experience with VDSL2 vectoring.
  • Current working and implementation knowledge of and ADSL2+, VDSL2, GPON architectures and their associated standards
  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, well organized with strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities/Functions:

  • Collaborate across external and internal groups in designing, implementing, and supporting multimedia solutions. Area of focus is primarily on architectures and configurations for Access technologies using both copper and fiber technologies (e.g., VDSL2, ADSL2x, GPON) including IP switches and routers, home gateways, outside plant (OSP) network and power solutions integration.
  • Work closely with and collaborate across a number of cross functional internal and external client, customer and vendor groups in understanding expectations and requirements and facilitating and implementing a solution architecture that fulfills agreed upon requirements.
  • Captures and understands client’s current working environment and present mode of operations to create deployment and migration strategies that minimizing downtime to end customer services.
  • Ensures that a solution meets the customer’s implicit, explicit and dynamic requirements and that any scope changes are subject to existing change control procedures.
  • Takes overall responsibility for the design of all aspects of a solution, working across organizations to achieve workable end-to-end solutions including ALU and third party sub-systems.
  • Ensures cross-domains solution feasibility from technical, migration, integration, operation and maintenance perspective.
  • Identifies problems and risks early in the solution definition process. Explicitly highlights obstacles and proposes actions to address them.
  • Identifies architectural alternatives and optimizes the trade-offs between factors such as customer expectations and required functionalities, development window, cost and quality throughout the design activity.
  • May be required facilitate and drive a cross functional team across various organizations and companies.
